German Shepherd Records Newsletter 50 – New Four Candles Album, The Harveys, German Shepherd on Mixcloud Direct, and Gigs!

Hello and welcome to this weeks edition of the German Shepherd Records newsletter,

We are still trying to cool down after a red hot night in Manchester last Friday where Adventures of Salvador launched their new album “Welcome To Our Village” accompanied by Electric Cheese and Umbrella Assassins. All three bands put in sterling performances as can be evidenced from Paul Forshaw’s videos of the event captured here.

This week we launch the new album from Four Candles “Nettle Rash” which is released on 12th July.

The third album from the band finds them moving on and expanding their repertoire with the presence of Mark Taylor’s guitar coming to the fore, and Ian Moss’s words taking on a broad range of subjects from Climate Change, through political issues including the badger cull, to an exploration of the seamier side of sexual entanglements. With guest vocalists Anne and Julia from the band Matthew Hopkins and keyboards from engineer Simon “Ding” Archer the aural palette of the band has been expanded. This is their strongest album yet.

An interview with Ian Moss about the album will be aired on Bob Osborne’s Aural Delights show in taintradio on 11th July.

The band are playing live at the following

10th August – Yerrr Bar, Manchester with Adventures of Salvador, and The Ombudsmen
14th November – The Castle, Manchester with The Harveys.

Speaking of The Harveys – that is the new name for Harvey’s Rabbit and we will be releasing a brand new double A side single from the band “Skeleton Dance/Laugh At The Stars” in September – here’s a preview of the gorgeous single art
