This time around we are promoting releases for 20th March. We have two new releases from Moff Skellington.
We also have some great gigs to tell you about.
MOFF SKELLINGTON
Moff Skellington is back with a brand new EP and the reissue of his 2010 album “Gliding Through Stone”
Moff’s newest release is called “Throat Mender”.
An EP, lasting a tidy 12 minutes, it offers a useful introduction to the artist. From the opening “Flowers On The Box” which waltzes Moff’s rich wordplay into your ears, through the Klezmer inspired “Colin Piggott” which is existentially Yorkshire in its manic delivery, whilst at the same time being utterly psychedelic. Track three “There’s A Ghost In The Place” perhaps channels R.Dean Taylor but then extends into a virtual tangle of language and imagery. The EP concludes with a tune inspired by German Shepherd label owner Ian Moss who was heard by his partner to utter when waking from slumber “Madonna Leave Me Alone”. Moff explores the dream state which might have led to this utterance.
We are also releasing for the first time an album from 2010 called “Gliding Through Stone” a collection which covers such varied subject matter as lard, bracken, Peggy Mount, Bees and Magistrates. Originally self released by Moff we now share it with the wider universe.
Moff has recently been featured in the Eighth Day Magazine as part of a new and regular series of articles about the labels output. In addition three new Moff Skellington albums are finished and planned for release in the summer of 2020.
