The Get

The story of The Get starts in 1977. Inspired by the punk philosophy that you didn’t need to play and anyone could do it, they remained a two piece bedroom band until 1981 when, with an augmented line-up, they played gigs around Southend until 1983, releasing a flexi single, Vampire Dread, which recently featured in an exhibition of punk graphic design at the Hayward Gallery. In 2008 they re-formed for a Southend Punk reunion night and have played intermittent gigs since and released an album of new material, “Gettitude” in 2013, which is available through German Shepherd.
