The Junta is the alter-ego of Salford musician John “Monty” Montague.
Monty, aside from delivering electronica via The Junta also plays bass in Kit B and Positronik and is a DJ on Salford City Radio and can be seen DJing at Wangies in Eccles on a Friday Night.
Of his album “Art of Glass” Monty says:
“This album consists of a collection of tunes I recorded between 2013-2014. It’s always been a childhood ambition to release an electronic album. I’ve been itching to get back to what got me into music in the first place…FOXX,NUMAN, JEAN-MICHEL JARRE, early HUMAN LEAGUE,CABARET VOLTAIRE..but with a little 90’s twist.”
His latest album “Network” features guest vocalists Loop-Aznavour, Aidan Cross and Stephen Doyle as well as the vocal debut of the Junta himself
