THE REAL NORTHERN POWERHOUSE

UB Promo Poster

The debut EP from the partnership of Ian “Moet” Moss and Simon “Ding” Archer is released on July 4th, they call themselves Unseasonal Beasts, badged as MUSIC  FROM THE NORTHERN POWERHOUSE . The first of a series of four, the EP includes three brand new tracks of pumping electronic pop-punk/post-punk with special guest appearances from the Manchester music scenes finest – Dan Woolfie, Eoghan Clifford, Seth Leppard and Susan O’Shea. This powerful music has been constructed over several months at Ding’s legendary 6dB Studios in Salford. It follows on from the debut single from the pairing from 2014 X-Factor/Dum Dum Daze.

With subjects ranging from legendary Chilean/French film-maker Alejandro Jodorowsky(who is feted in a massive near seven minute dance epic) through the harrowing tales of migrant workers, to a discourse on the pressures of modern life, this is a powerful first statement from two legends of Manchester Music.

No gigs are planned at the moment although the duo have made one live appearance to date featuring two of the tracks from this EP

A ten minute interview with Ian Moss will be broadcast on Bob Osborne’s Aural Delights Show on Taint Radio on July 4th.

Flier 2

With eight strong tracks the new album shows the band at their very best with gig favourites “King Kong”, “Uncle Walt” and “Prettier Than You” leaping out the speakers to grab you by the ears with Northern Punkabilly venom. The album centre piece and closer is the memorable “Welcome To My Village”, a song with echoes of Royston Vaysey and The Wicker Man, it is the tale of a hedonistic village elder who has his own population drive in full effect. Highly regarded single “Retroman” is also part of the set.

Adventures of Salvador are the bastard offspring of The Cramps, Jeffrey Lee Pierce and Johnny Rotten with a theremin. Their live sets are legendary with a post punk fervour emasculating prog rock elements to create a truly unique sound. With lyrics that echo Grand Guignol and Brecht with a smattering of early Nick Cave they are the must see band of the moment.

Produced and recorded at Big City Jacks Recording Studio in Bury, Greater Manchester by Tony Long the band have hit a new creative peak with their intense and hypnotic sounds. This is enhanced with stunning artwork from Jack Jerz.

COMMENTS ABOUT THE BAND

“An outrageously confident slice of modern Rock & Roll. The best thing I have heard in a very long time” – Stephen Doyle, Salford City Radio

“Are you sure this isn’t some long-lost collaboration when Mark E Smith jammed with the Cramps and the B-52’s??? It sounds ace – Grim Up North Sea Surf Punk!” Ged Babey, Louder Than War

“The Salvadors reach new heights with an audacious blues soaked rumble through the urban hills above the Manchester Conurbation” – Aural Delights Blog

“Think of the B-movie, rumbling sexploitation sass of the legendary Cramps in a no holds barred street fight with the blunt yet beloved snark of The Fall or PIL and you get a hint of what’s going on here. Loud, brash and unapologetic….” Mark Buckley, Analogue Trash.
